Packing Tips For Your Beauty Products

Happy Monday !

I just got back from a quick weekend trip and packed everything up in about an hour.

*pauses and waits for applause*

By now, I have it down to a science, especially when it comes to beauty and skincare products. The trick to not overpacking toiletries is to condense your everyday beauty routine. When I'm going away for only two days, I leave items like my jade roller and toner at home, otherwise I'd need 10 cosmetics bags for 2 days. That's a little excessive, even for me.

Here are a few packing tips to help you include the absolute skincare necessities, and leave behind the rest:

1. Find a cosmetics bag that can fit all of your beauty products. There's nothing worse than needing five different bags just to hold the basics.

I love the Henri Bendel Hanging Weekender Bag ($68) because the double zipper compartments allow me to separate my skincare products from my makeup products. There's also an option to add a monogram which I always love. It folds over and zips easily to fit into any suitcase.

2. Save up the samples Sephora loves to give out for this moment exactly. It's a prime time to try out some new sample size items and save on some serious space.

3. I'm a huge advocate of using a different moisturizer in the morning than the one you use at night. (Don't look at me like that, they do different things OK?!) However, this isn't the time to be bougie. Bring just one moisturizer along with you for the weekend, but make sure it's one that both hydrates and lays well under foundation or tinted moisturizer.

I've recommended this moisturizer over and over again but Neutrogena's Hydro Boost Gel Cream ($20) uses hyaluronic acid to lock in hydration and it creates a perfect base layer for makeup.

4. Invest in travel sized bottles from CVS. It's worth the trip to your local drugstore to buy a few plastic bottles and fill them with shampoo, conditioner, face wash, or any other product that comes in a heavy or bulky package. Save some room and just pour in the amount that you need. Try this Amazon Portable Travel Bottle Set ($12).

5. Pack a multipurpose product.

I'm a huge fan of the Summer Fridays' Jet Lag Mask ($48) and it's a travel must. The Jetlag Mask serves as a moisturizer, primer, 10 minute or overnight mask, and even can be used as under eye cream. The possibilities are endless and it's an amazing way to get 3 or 4 different uses out of one single product.

6. Makeup wipes are your best friend when you're traveling because they're light and much easier to use on the go than a cleansing balm or liquid makeup remover.

Sephora Collection's Cleansing & Exfoliating Rose Wipes ($7.50) are EVERYTHING. I swear by these because they're gentle on your skin and won't tug or irritate your face like many other wipes. In my opinion, the ROSE scent is the best, so opt for that one.

7. Items that are okay to skip for two or three days:

Toner

Daily Peel Pads/ Radiance Pads

Jade Roller/ Facial Massager

Lip Mask

It pained me to leave a few of these home over the weekend. No, I'm being dramatic, it was seriously fine. While these are super important to use on a daily basis, skipping them for just a few short days won't kill you, as long as you get right back into using them once you return home!
