Quebec, Canada Travel Guide

Hi !

I recently returned from my trip to Mont Tremblant, Quebec, Canada. My family and I have been going annually since I was about 10 years old. We always have so much fun and it's such a beautiful, special place. I've only gone in February when it's freezing, but I'd love to visit in the summertime because I heard it's a lot of fun during the warmer months as well.

I broke down everything about our trip below, from the hotel we stayed at, restaurants we ate at, and activities we enjoyed. Let's get started:

Hotel:

We stayed at the Hotel Quintessence and have been staying there for years. It's a beautiful hotel with only about 24 rooms. I love that it isn't huge because the staff is so warm and it makes your stay that much more special. I posted a video of our hotel room to my Instagram stories, but you can find it under my highlights in case you missed it. We stayed in the Presidential Suite this time around but all of the rooms are gorgeous. It's just across the street from the little village and from Mont Tremblant, which is the mountain we ski.

Another hotel option is The Fairmont Hotel. We've stayed there before as well and a huge plus is it's a ski in/ ski out resort so you don't have to carry your gear around to the slopes.

Quick Note: I received a few DM's about whether or not I was in Montreal. I was in Mont Tremblant which is in Quebec, Canada. Montreal is about 85 miles, or a hour and a half away. We flew into Montreal airport (about a 45 minutes flight) and then took a car to Mont Tremblant (hour/ hour and a half drive) because, unfortunately, there isn't a more direct flight.

Restaurants:

The food in Quebec is amazing. Here are our favorites:

Lunch:

Le Shack

La Forge

Fat Mardi's

These are located in the village, right at the bottom of the slopes. We would ski down, hang up our skis, eat a quick lunch, and then head back up for some more skiing. The location is super convenient.

Snack:

Beaver Tails- You need to eat a beaver tail ! They're delicious and you can find the little shop in the village. My favorite is the Beaver Tail with Nutella, banana, and powdered sugar. You can thank me later.

Dinner:

La Petite Cachee (delicious food and it's in the cutest little log cabin)

Patrick Bermand (try the escargot !)

La Forge (the upstairs level is a steakhouse)

La Quintessence Restaurant

Activities:

Skiing/ Snowboarding:

This is obviously the main activity of the trip and we skied 5 out of 6 days. The slopes are great and there's something for everyone- from easy greens to challenging black diamonds. Once you ski or snowboard down into the village, there are tons of restaurants and shops for you to pick from. If you stay at the Hotel Quintessence, they will bring you gear to rent so you don't even have to go to a rental store.

Dog Sledding:

We didn't go dog sledding this time around, but I've gone about 5 times previously and it's always SO much fun. You get to meet the pups before hand and pet them and show them some love. Then you can either sit in the sled or stand up and steer, while the dogs run and take you down a winding snowy path. It's such a cool experience and I highly recommend going if you haven't before.

Horse Sleigh Ride:

We did a nighttime horse sleigh ride and it was a lot of fun. The horses take you through the woods while you look up at the stars and the surrounding scenery. We did a private sleigh ride but you can also book a group tour, depending on what you prefer. The sleigh rides also run in the day time as well.

Snow Tubing:

We went to the Saint Jovite tubing park and it was a blast ! You should definitely go check it out. It's crazier than any snow tubing I've done previously. It's huge and pretty steep so you go flying down the hill lol. There were a lot of little kids there too though so it's also great for families and there are a few different steepness levels for you to choose from.

Shopping:

Be sure to check out the little boutiques at the bottom of Mont Tremblant. Some of our favorites are Boutique La Raffinerie (really cute clothes and brands like Free People), Chamonix (high end ski gear), Lole (it's new and is similar to a Lululemon. I bought a really cute ribbed dress), and Hatley for the cutest pajamas.

Spa:

I got a massage at the Hotel Quintessence's spa, Spa Sans Sabots. I'm sure you can make an appointment, even if you're staying at a different hotel. The massage was great and you also have access to their sauna and hot tub.

I hope this travel guide gave you all of the details you wanted and needed to know ! If I missed anything, just shoot me a DM.

Thanks for reading !

Caroline
